The Business

HeartKids is Australia’s only not-for-profit organisation solely dedicated to supporting those affected by Childhood Onset Heart Disease (CoHD). The organisation provides a range of essential services, including in-hospital support, psychological services, transitional care, and family advocacy.

As champions of the heart, HeartKids is on a mission to positively impact the lives of children, teenagers, and adults with congenital or childhood-acquired heart diseases, engaging a broad audience that includes donors, volunteers, and families looking for tailored support.

The Challenge

HeartKids recognised the need to enhance its online presence with a refreshed, user-friendly website designed to further its mission and foster meaningful community connections. The previous website was difficult to navigate and lacked critical features to support effective engagement, donations, and access to resources.

Ardent’s brief was to create a seamless experience for unique user groups—families, supporters, and volunteers—and provide intuitive access to information, a streamlined donation process, event registration, and a comprehensive resource library. Accessible design alongside an effective SEO strategy a were vital to broaden HeartKids’ reach and improve overall user experience.

To support HeartKids’ community-building efforts, we developed several key features:

  • Events and Campaigns: Integrated a seamless registration and ticketing system.
  • E-commerce Shop: Developed an online shop with a user-friendly interface to enable supporters to easily purchase HeartKids merchandise.
